French Bootabout

Busy with 3-dimensional artwork on canvasses for an antique shop that sells French furniture. This is one of 6 various pieces, including a corset, mannequin, hat, perfume bottle and handbag. Using really old fabric and over the top trimmings to bring that moulin rouge feel right home!

Smitten Penguins

Whipped out an old sketch with romantic theme.

Send in the Frowns

Tsk, tsk, tsk...what's this? A MONTH since I last blogged! That's just not good enough, huh? Well, I'm back and I've thrown in one of the series of illies I've just done for a kid's educational book. My frowning Autumn tree.

Hoss

Sitting around doodling something late on a Saturday night...why a horse is quite beyond me, but the equine species is fabulous to caricature, really.

Spanner in the Works

Cheesy humour aside, it really is about much graft right now. Day 3 of factory environment, pumping out canvasses of repetitive Arabic designs can become arduous. But I do love it! Lots of time to think about stuff while I paint...and I do mulch off into my own happy place. Now, if only South African radio stations played better music to work to. Is hip hop all we have on the dangdratted playlist? Could someone please back me up on this one?

And heeeeere's the Oscar...

Ze Poodle of Paris

Caricature of friend's miniature French poodle called Beanie. A more spoilt dog you're not likely to encounter. But she's worth spoiling. And I'm not even a dog person. Which is why I had to throw in Oscar the cat to keep the peace. And not have the Force Felines sneak up on me and let me have it for putting a dog on my blog!

Sunday Slumber

In the theme of Father's Day card designs (still pumping those out for 2008) and justified Sunday laziness, here's my gem for today.

Roach Motels and Mafia's

My previous residence was a metropolis of roach life, activity, timeshare units, construction sites, family expansion (as in, go forth and multiply). Where I live now, they're a limited sort of species. But I know the roach mafia still rules underground here...wherever that is.

Tuesday 16 October 2007

End of another day here at the drawing desk - proverbial checkered flag has flown for me. Working on Father's Day stuff for greeting card company, so toons still in the making (yes, they still need to be outlined properly!) Anyhow, the little blue racing car is one of my favourites. Over and out for Tuesday.

Go Figure

Er, those creative juices have yet to be triggered...still sussing out the be all and end all of the daily blog design itself. Sigh.

Friday 12 October 2007

Well, well, welcome to the right side of my brain. If the name atomic soda made you wonder (or wander, whatever the case), the creative juice explosions are yet to be triggered off!
